Abstract
The individual level of spirituality of voluntary self-flagellants differs according to his/her religious fervor, atonement for sin, and spiritual motivation. The paper shares an in-depth spiritual character of selected self-flagellants who personally and secretly vowed to perform flagellation for a decade in the province of Bulacan. Mixed method research is employed to obtain the holistic output of the study. Results show that the level of spirituality of the respondents moderates their engagement in self-flagellations.
