Abstract

This paper delves into the profound significance of assuming a spiritual leadership role within a college campus, guiding the diverse campus community in their spiritual journeys as students, faculty, and staff. By investigating the multifaceted dimensions of spiritual leadership, encompassing religious, spiritual, and interfaith practices, as well as identity, community, and a sense of belonging, this study sheds light on the essence of this vital role. Drawing extensively from my personal experiences and interactions as a Buddhist chaplain on campus, this study extends the understanding of chaplaincy in higher education, emphasizing the relevance of spiritual communities and the power of shared spiritual/religious practices in fostering deep connections among individuals and communities.
