The Mimetic Organization

Abstract

A rhetorical analysis elaborates the concept of mimesis as used anciently and as can be understood as a condition of the modern organization. Mimetic behavior in individuals and organizations are illustrated. Examples of mimesis are shown to impede organizational communication. An examination of Donald Trump’s communication demonstrates how authoritarian leaders create mimetic organizations.
