Abstract

Genuine socio-legal work specifically on the Police Commissionerate of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack is yet to be found. Bhubaneswar and Cuttack are always in the target of radicals and high alert making the police community work harder to keep law and order. They have a challenging task with the changing economic, political, and social environmental scenario. Thus, the role of the Commissionerate Police is vital. The department of home affairs and commissioner of police play a vital role in deciding the work culture in police department. This independent exploration examines the idea of police society and its utility for investigating the effect of police cultures and sub cultures in the personal and professional life of the police officials. The study further tries to distinguish by putting a spotlight on organizational and occupational commitment of the police administration, clearing up the contrast between these two ideas and their effect on individual Police personnel.
