Transitioning Nursing Education from Traditional Classroom to an Innovative Virtual Format

Abstract

Factors that affect an environment change the most appropriate ways to achieve a goal. The coronavirus pandemic of 2019 has deeply affected nursing education traditionally delivered in person. The pandemic was critical in transitioning teaching methods from traditional to innovative. Changes in the educational process mean transitioning from a known to an unknown. Many factors can influence transition - personal, community, and social. In this workshop, we share our experiences and explore tools that we utilized when transitioning our traditionally face-to-face programs – Neonatal Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner – to an innovative virtual format.
