Projects, Posters, Post-Its - Oh, My: Using Agile Mindset and Scrum Methodology to Help Students Take Ownership of Their Learning

Abstract

In the workshop, Patrick introduces Agile Methodology and then guides an exercise of practicing the application of the method of helping students create self-organized teams that break down projects and assignments into actionable tasks, keep track of the progress of those tasks towards completion, hold themselves and their teammates accountable, present the completed projects and assignments, and then conduct constructive feedback sessions to improve productivity and working relationships. Teachers will leave the workshop with templates and a working understanding of how to implement the process of planning, acting, revising, reflecting.
