Abstract
Education that connects students to place and provides opportunities for them to experience and appreciate the value of natural places in which they live, while also addressing the mandated curriculum, it is valued by participants – students and teachers. An example is provided in this session of students connecting to and learning about their local natural environment and based on a set of learning principles developed by the authors. The ideas of ecojustice and valuing/connecting to place are identified as beneficial by participants.
