Description

Donna is Professor of Critical Cultural Studies in the Department of Arts at Northumbria University. She is an interdisciplinary scholar who is interested in how people and places are represented through tourism, drawing on a range of critical perspectives including, though not limited to postcolonial and decolonial epistemologies, critical race theory and Black feminist theory. She is an Associate Editor of Annals of Tourism Research and was most recently a Managing Editor for Leisure Studies. Donna is currently one of 16 women from Black, Asian and minority ethnic heritage in the North East of England featured in the ‘Inspirational Women’ permanent exhibition at the Discovery Museum in Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
