Abstract
It is estimated that an average 18-hole golf course uses the same amount of water as a city of 15,000 inhabitants, without counting the other water consuming infrastructures, which accompany them, such as housing developments, with emerald green lawns, and crystal clear swimming pools. Thus, these areas are, environmentally draining, due to their excessively unbridled consumption of water. Therefore, this paper verses on the current water consumption of these sports facilities, along the Spanish Costa del Sol, as well what can be done to correct their wasteful usage of water.
