Abstract
This study focuses on information and communication technology (ICT) adoption and usage to increase the performance of Tanzania’s World Heritage Sites (WHSs). Despite the number of empirical studies conducted on ICT intervention into WHSs, (David and Cantoni, 2014; Garbelli et al., 2014; Kalbaska, 2015; ), little is known on the factors influencing ICT adoption in WHSs, ICT usage in WHSs and on the performance indicators brought by ICT usage in WHSs. Hence there is a need to study underlying ICT factors that can be used by Tanzania WHSs to improve their organizations. Thus, this study fills into that gap by developing a framework that depicts factors that influence ICT adoption and usage in WHSs and later its effects on performance of the WHSs in Tanzania. The research is grounded in E. Rogers’ (2003) Innovation Diffusion Theory which has been adapted from the study by (Fuchs, et al.2010) and tested with a survey data gathered from 200 hundred managers and head of departments and senior staff of the Tanzania World Heritage Sites. SPSS and a structural equation modeling (SEM) approach will be used to analyses the data.
