Abstract
This paper presents a qualitative approach to the study of older adults’ work experiences, analysing their work trajectories and routines, as well as, their economic and non-economic motivations to continue working. Semi-structured biographical interviews were used to collect the data and were applied to a group of older workers residing in the city of Lima selected through non-probabilistic and purposive sampling. The research findings indicate that education level, socio-economic status, place of birth, and gender have an influence on experiences and working condition in old age; in addition to the economic, social, and political context in which they live.
