Good Work for Older Workers: What Could we do Better?

Abstract

This paper presents the findings of work undertaken to identify opportunities to enhance Good Work for older workers in the South Australian Public Sector who comprise 12% of the workforce in the state. The paper draws on data from a number of sources including: the I Work For SA Your Voice Survey; workforce composition data and Work Health and Safety outcomes to inform the current status of older workers. The paper will also present results of a literature review to identify policy opportunities- including the use of pre-frailty indicators. A draft framework of how tailored interventions might be used to enhance Good Work for older workers is proposed.
