Abstract

Bangladesh has the highest number of NGOs in the world and some of them are working to improve of quality of life for the vulnerable poor people. A few NGOs work to improve the welfare of the elderly in Bangladesh. This talk highlights some success stories of new initiatives concerned with the welfare of the elderly in rural Bangladesh. We developed a care and support model called Sitakund, which is likely of interest to others working in this area in other regions.
