Abstract
My proposal involves presenting a creative writing workshop based on research covered in my PhD novel. The novel is about an elderly writer who seeks to make senses of her difficult past through writing. Participants will be given the opportunity to explore trauma, memory, and its affects on the aging subject through a variety of writing exercises. Such writing exercises will explore the concept that trauma that is not resolved in one generation will be carried forward into the next. Depending on their particular inclinations, participants may choose to engage in the workshop through the genres of poetry, narrative non-fiction, memoir, and fiction.
