Addressing Human and Technological Factors in the Fake News Phenomenon

Abstract

With the advancement of Social Systems (SS) and the growth of free will, users and producers’ roles have merged and eased news creation for every citizen. The objective of this paper is to analyze the most recurrent factors in user experiences with SS, capable of influencing the fake news propagation phenomenon. After executing a systematic revision protocol, we have found 15 papers related to this theme. The results present fake news categories according to its propagation type, differentiated analysis to a news chain value, personal, social and technological factors of user experiences, affecting user attitudes and credibility with information; and finally, the identification of mechanisms to combat and prevent fake news.
