The Livelihood Resilience of Rural Households During Covid 19 Pandemic: Case Studies from Indonesia

Abstract

The outbreak of corona virus has seriously attack the economy. The virus outbreak which later gave rise to the Covid 19 pandemic has created an extraordinary economic crisis around the world including Indonesia. The economic sector in rural areas, especially small-scale agriculture and small-medium scale economic enterprises, was severely affected by the economic crisis due to the pandemic. To survive, the small-scale rural economies carry out various adaptive strategies at all costs. This paper constitutes a number of studies compiled from empirical studies of rural communities with different economic activities. The study considers how the small and medium-sized agricultural and rural industry sector built resilience and survived from the crisis during the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia.
