Intercultural Comminication, the Situation, and Transaction: Convergence between Edward Hall's and John Dewey's Ideas

Abstract

This paper deepens the epistemological foundation of intercultural communication by examining the ideas of Edward Hall, converging with John Dewey’s theory of the situation and transaction. At the end the question of the consequences for practice will be discussed, not only for intercultural communication but also in terms of diversity management.
