Voicing Political and Social Concerns: Ernesto Cardenal, Gioconda Belli, and Sergio Ramirez

Abstract

Ernesto Cardenal, Giconda Belli and Sergio Ramirez are contemporary Nicaraguan writers who have received international literary prizes for their poetry and prose. This paper analyzes the techniques they use to convey criticism of social and political conditions in Nicaragua from the period of the Somoza dictatorship to the present Ortega administration.
