Abstract
Exploring the continuing influence of Don Quixote through example of contemporary jazz music. The 500 year old story of Don Quixote continues to inspire artists in every genre including contemporary jazz. Examples will include Kenny Wheeler’s 1969 recording Windmill Tilter, and Tom Harrell’s 2014 recording Trip. This workshop incorporates a digital audio presentation and related activities.
