The Meaning of Paradoxical Ways of Thinking in Literature

Abstract

Contemporary literature reflects the main tendencies of the society. It has a great influence on minds and inclinations to use paradox as a means of understanding. Thus, studying paradox, being a complex linguistic phenomenon with a particular form and structure that exerts a significant and/or determining influence on the understanding of the creative text, is a notable idea. This analysis of paradox structures at different levels of the fiction literature texts allows us to substantiate the holistic concept of paradox as a special linguistic structure possessing a meaningful potential. Meaning along with content is the ideal reality of the text, a construct of textual content, on which basis the activity of understanding the text can be developed. This is the part of the content that mastering is the main goal and a condition for the adequate development of the paradoxically marked text. The text itself, in addition to the most general sense, can contain different types of meanings that differ in the features of the awakened reflexion and are not transmitted by direct nomination means. Examination of meanings expressed through a language paradox requires organized reflection.
