Which Reality?: Interactions at the Southern Mexican Border as Fieldwork of Creative Practice

Abstract

The premise of this paper is that artistic practice is a way to understand and generate knowledge from the diversity of cultural and social manifestations and events in places around the south frontier of Mexico. The purpose of this project is to consider the border not only as the geographic limits of countries or national states, but as a representation of symbolic differences between people, emphasizing inequality and what they have in common.
