Is the Islamic Ruling System a Failed System in the Twenty-first Century?

Abstract

Islam has a constitution, it has its laws, it has a governing structure, it has the principles of electing and choosing a leader, it has nearly two billion people as its public, it has fifty-seven nations, it has its own judges, its own courts, its own ideals of democracy, and its own principles of freedom. The question it raises that despite having a structure of governing and all the foundations to rule successfully, can Islam use these foundations to govern and rule in the twenty-first century, and if so, how would that appear in a society which is fast becoming reliant upon a secular governing structure? This paper shall examine these questions.
