The Perception of Elements of Design that Represent Nakhon Si Thammarat Community Identity on Decorative Lamp

Abstract

This paper is part of the creative products design from Thai traditional knowledge for demonstration the community identity. The objective is to study the perception of elements of design that represent Nakhon Si Thammarat community identity on decorative Lamp. The result from a sample group perceived the reflection of Nakhon Si Thammarat Province identity which reflected from the architecture category. The study found that Wat Phra Mahathat Woramahaviharn is the best reflection and is used as the character to design the decorative Lamp by difference elements and principles. The result of this study found that the design using outline of Wat Phra Mahathat Woramahaviharn is completed when turn on the light and shadow represent Nakhon Si Thammarat Community identity on the product. It illustrates the product functions, distinction, conspicuousness and the highest preciousness.
