Abstract
The objective of this research is to reflect on the learning experiences when applying speculative design to address a problem that arose as a result of COVID - 19. The methodology implemented was action research complemented with Design Thinking and creative stimulation exercises, three teams of third and fourth year architecture students at Universidad Centroamericana José Siméon Cañas in El Salvador developed a design project between June and December 2020. The results suggest scenarios solutions for two audiences: medical personnel and university students. Through speculative design, the students were able to reflect on how to find problems and think of meaningful questions that, through the support of various experts, allowed to generate collaborative discussions about the type of futures people want in the face of events such as a pandemic.
