Perhapstechnobuyproduct: Consequences of Digital Debris

Abstract

Perhapstechnobuyproduct (P) is an education research initiative emerging to understand the rise of mega-fulfillment methods, social and consumer intimacy, the gig economy, and its ties to the climate crisis misinformation. Society faces unprecedented perils today. Through public database research and design thinking, one aspect of P is “posters as conversations,” that explore these intertwined techno relationships. Design and design educations’ future relies on engaging with complex contemporary issues. By using the poster as an outlet and conventional form, the access of information is democratic. Content and printing methods used to produce the posters explore new and old technological realms––showcasing the integral relationships between designer and researcher. P offers a new view of the ubiquitous information landscapes.
