Structural Thinking in Architecture: Technical Stimulations

Abstract

The architectural design process challenges many ongoing debates and evaluations. Structural thinking and its relationship to architects, is a case in point. The architect-engineer collaboration throughout the design process, concept generation, and the relative education as vital dimensions of this process prompted this research. The selected topics relative to these debates, are theoretically and thematically analyzed. As such, keywords, codes, themes and sub-themes emerged. Findings center around the following themes: design knowledge, cooperative design, and interactive education.
