Socially Responsive Design: : Contributions to Social Change

Abstract

Socially responsive design is the vision to establish collaborative thinking based designs with community participation all over the world. This concept develops the relationship not only between the client and the architect but establishes strong relations with the communities. This design approach is the empowerment of the communities for the appropriate designs that creates rhythm within the existing built forms in addition to the unique character of its own complex design. This study examines the residential sector in Lahore, Pakistan designed by different architects to interpret the socially responsive design features and their impacts on the community.
