Knowledge Translation Project : Using Infographics as a Source of Information and Advocacy

Abstract

This knowledge translation project, titled “Emergency Medesign,” represents an innovative community service learning initiative between information design students, university faculty, and a Department of Emergency Medicine on the topic of knowledge translation in medicine. This project describes an exciting and practice-changing collaboration based on “Choosing Wisely,” a national campaign in Canada and the United States encouraging discussion between health care providers and patients on matters relevant to their health. It continues to deliver educational opportunities beyond the classroom for students and the community.
