Study on the Characters and Patterns of Spatial Evolution in Tourism-oriented Chinese Rural Settlements

Abstract

Rural tourism is not only an industrial model, but also a kind of development behavior in China. It is not only effectively stimulates the rural economy and social development, but also changes the farmers’ way of life and production, and then becomes an important way to promote the evolution of rural settlement space. This paper takes the Maojiayu Village, Dongshuichang Village and Xiaochuanfangyu Village in Chuanfangyu Town, Jixian County, Tianjin of China as the research objects, and uses the method of empirical analysis to study the associated mechanism of spatial evolution and tourism development of rural settlement. This paper focuses on the types of tourism development, tourism development stage, and capital intervention model to study the change nature of land use in rural settlements, function and spatial pattern of residential space before and after tourism development. This paper lays the foundation for spatial development studies and construction practice of rural settlements in the future. The first part of paper is an overview of the development of rural settlement tourism development. The second part is an empirical study on the evolution of the settlement space in tourist village. The last part is the correlative mechanism of the spatial evolution of village settlement and tourism development.
