A Study of Parallel Paradigms Between Architecture and Fashion Design

Abstract

By examining common paradigms between architecture and fashion design, a strong correlation between the two fields may be observed. The social need for expression in this new age, especially in the field of architecture, is seen. These needs affect the social dimension of architecture and fashion design and affect users’ satisfaction. Both architecture and fashion design offer a shelter for individuals. This study focuses mainly on the technique and nature of design, which is similar in both disciplines and professions. Techniques such as discovering, thinking, dragging, and promoting fashion design can be used in architectural design in tectonic and aesthetic ways. Therefore, this research also focuses on these inventions, both buildings, and clothing, to examine their relationship to other techniques. In this research, the paradigms and terms of architecture and fashion design are presented. The method of this study is based on qualitative, comparative, historical, analytical and descriptive approaches. The research draws on two disciplines based on the theory of fashion design and contemporary architecture. Therefore, this study examines whether these two fields affect each other; and if they do so, how these effects are reflected in the final product, as well as the architecture and fashion advances, studied and compared with contemporary architecture.
