Abstract
This study aims to understand the trends and flows of digital nomadism on a global scale, through a socio-spatial approach. Digital nomadism is understood as a practice that has grown in recent decades due to the widespread use of the internet and facilitated connection between different regions of the world, coupled with a digital culture characteristic of the millennial and Generation Z cohorts. Overall, both generations readily embrace the idea of living experiences and a materially unattached lifestyle, which aligns with the practice of digital nomadism. To conduct this analysis, we mapped out the main destinations chosen by digital nomads using data collected from the Nomad List platform. Preliminary results highlight the main flows according to the evaluation criteria adopted by the platform. Additionally, reflections are provided on the current intertwining between digital nomadism and new forms of immigration.
