One Health: An Approach to Prevent Future Communicable Diseases

Abstract

Humanity is prone to difficult challenges and threats; COVID-19 is an example of the complex threats of emerging infectious diseases. One Health approach represents the interdisciplinary frame required between human, veterinary, and environment as well as social behaviors. Therefore, all these disciplines work to identify the sources of emerging pathogens and ways to reduce the threat of outbreaks. This paper considers the knowledge and skills of people affiliated with the One Health approach and their readiness to adopt it to be able to reduce the threats of emerging challenges.
