Globalization: Bully Pulpit or Economic Platform for Developing Nations?

Abstract

The subject of Globalization which gained a lot of global attention in the mid-80s, is not new. But what is interesting, is the level of social-economic impact Globalization continues to make in the life of people, especially those in developing nations. Research shows that challenges communities in developing nations face today are quite enormous and; one that demands strong leadership rooted in transparency and accountability. The mind-boggling question, however, is; are developing Nations beneficiaries of globalization or victims of globalization? In other word, how much has globalization contributed to social, economic and political well being of developing nations? This study seeks to explore pain and gain of globalization from developing nations perspective. The researchers of this study hope that the outcomes from the research will further benefit educational institutions about Globalization as it relates to developing nations and; to serve as lesson learned to the body of knowledge.
