Abstract
This paper examines China’s One Belt One Road (OBOR) Initiative - also known as Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) - and its impact on the geopolitics of South Asia. A flagship project of OBOR is the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) to which China has already committed more than US$60 billion. However, India regards it as a violation of its sovereignty because the Corridor passes through territory claimed by India. This paper argues that the CPEC has exacerbated tensions between India and Pakistan and negatively affected the resolution of bilateral problems between the two South Asian nations through dialogue.
