Women Leadership in the Academy: An Analysis of Women Leaders of Public, Four Year Post Secondary Institutions

Abstract

This research is a part of a larger dissertation, From First Lady to Madame President: A Study of Women College Presidents at Public Four-Year Institutions of Higher Education (2020). The study examined historical limitations and expectations that contributed to the lack of women college presidents, particularly at four-year institutions. Eight women who are currently serving or whom have served as college presidents were interviewed.
