From the Lens of a Public Administrator Teacher: The Importance of Understanding Cultural Competency

This case study explores the importance of Public Administration faculty in a small South Florida university coming to terms with the need for cultural competency training. As more universities utilize online program managers (OPM) and offer programs to international students, faculty must be mindful that many programs are designed from an American perspective. As such, faculty have an opportunity to think about the need for inclusiveness and revise their programs and coursework so that the "Americanization" of coursework is not overly dominant.
