Globalization and Good Governance: Impact of Globalization on Political, Socio-Cultural Patterns of Governance

Abstract

The sustenance of world civilizations largely based on the assumptions of multi-polar mode of governance in which political, economic, socio-cultural, and religious identities have respective roles in the domain of governance. The impact of globalization on the multifaceted mode of governance has witnessed in the integration of civilizations values affecting different segments across the globe. The negative consequences of the process and development of globalization is also reflected with large scale of movements across the globe struggling for their identity, security, and settlements of residence. The pattern of socio-religious and ethnic heterogeneity has some extent been inconsistent with fight for the fruits of economic and political development concerning a nation-state system. Further, the pattern of nation state dominance in the sphere of decision making has been inconsistent with the factors and forces of such diversified identities in collaboration with the forces of the non-state actors in different forms. The entire world has been struggling with the devastating impact of ethnic rivalries, religious intolerance, ethnic cleansing, and border dispute and its ramification of displacement. This paper addresses the nature of the pattern of the governance in the wake of the forces of globalization and the present context of the nature of conflict of interest in the framework of multifaceted forms of governance.
