Abstract
Tajalapiz is an artist collective in Bogota Colombia founded by Maria Isabel Lopez and Felipe Machado Franco in 2014. https://www.instagram.com/tajalapiz_/ We publish sketchbooks and Art books of local illustrators and artists pioneering this collective practice in Colombia. We also produce small Illustrations festivals and Art shows. After a series of visits to international books fairs we noticed here in Colombia we daren’t had any independent publishing of sketchbooks so we decided to start this type of publishing practices back home. So far we have published two collective sketchbooks gathering work from more than 40 local illustrators and a first edition of the book Cien Ollas by digital painter Maria Isabel Lopez. We will talk about our experience starting our collective, funding, and publishing our books. We will also offer a series of short activities on urban sketching and how to be creative using sketchbooks and notebooks.
