Where Would Indian Diversity and Culture Be without Tribal Arts?

Abstract

In in order to fully appreciate the burly appeal of tribal art of India, one must look its enormous diversity in cultural appearance, vivid display of tradition, demonstration of past and present latent artistic talent, to be cognizant of the lasting impact of indigenous paintings on contemporary tribal artists up to the present day. This paper presents a qualitative study of indigenous art forms in India by practising artists representing various tribal regions, art forms, technique and applications. By drawing on a variety of data sources and analytic elements through targeted interviews with tribal artists, experiences of museum curator, and a synthesis of public media the findings on trends and patterns; passion and visual stimulation of Indian tribal artists are aggregated in greater depth in this research.
