Function of Contemporary Iranian Dramatic Art in the Community

Abstract

The dramatic literature in Iran, from pre-Islamic to constitutional times, has various forms of performing and ritual art, such as theatrical forms of Siavash’s grief, killing of fire worshipper ceremony and dancing with a mask to praise Nahid and Mehr in pre-Islamic times and Mirenorouzi’s performances, the ritual of Ta’ziyeh, Spiritual Dance, A narrative and a puppet show emerged after Islam. At the same time, it has tried to expand the viewpoint of viewer minds by relying on the text and art of execution. It also led to a phenomenal artistic and aesthetic criterion for judgment. In this way, audiences in the realm of society can assessment more sensible the performances, aspirations and human concerns. Since art and culture are the arena of various tastes and different judgments reflecting the demands and desires of different ideas in the realm of culture and art, the art of theater has, since its inception, provided conditions for thinking about events and personalities and also, the communication between experience, thought, life, and thinking about the meaning of life . Through to this, the mission of performing arts is undoubtedly to inspire thought and awaken the mind.
