Abstract

Landscape, as a literary notion, has a central presence in all studies of the humanities and social sciences, as it allows us to question the basis of the knowledge that nourishes these disciplines. A central question is: can knowledge, in the humanities or the human sciences, develop independently of morality? After the twentieth century's dissociation between science and morality, contemporary ecological concerns seem to have put morality back at the heart of knowledge.
