  • A Study of Farmers Direct Marketing: Assessing the Factors for the Home to Land Approach

The Bangladesh Economic Review 2022 highlights significant allocations towards agriculture, food security, fisheries, and livestock sectors, amounting to 4.03 percent of the national budget. Despite substantial subsidies and incentives for farmers, their economic prosperity remains a concern. Recognizing the pivotal role of agriculture in Bangladesh's economy, a research initiative explores alternative sales approaches for farmers. Surveying 120 key opinion leaders from farmers' organizations, the study investigates factors influencing direct sales success, including age, financial resources, knowledge, and technical literacy. Findings underscore the importance of technical support in facilitating farmers' direct marketing endeavors, while other factors show comparatively weaker correlations. The study also reveals farmers' expectations for financial compensation, reflecting their commitment to participating in research efforts aimed at enhancing agricultural practices and economic outcomes.
