With a magna cum laude B.A. from Vassar college, an M.A.T. from Harvard University, and an M.F.A. from the University of Colorado, Boulder, Judith E. Stone has 35 years' professional activity in studio art, conducted in tandem with three decades' interdisciplinary teaching on university campuses in Denver, Philadelphia, Tokyo, and, most recently, Burlington, Vermont. A MacDowell Colony Resident Fellow, Stone has exhibited her mixed media works on paper throughout the United States and in Japan, where her work figures in numerous public and private collections.
A writer as well as artist, Stone has published in the Bulletin of the Center for Holocaust Studies, (The University of Vermont), Per Contra: the International Journal for the Arts, Literature and Ideas, The Vassar Quarterly, and Common Ground's Design Principles and Practices: An International Journal. She is currently at work on a book for Common Ground entitled Easel to Edifice, which examines commonalities between Art Nouveau artist/ architects Charles Rennie Mackintosh and Henry van de Velde.
