I born in the United States, but grew up in Puerto Rico until I was 22 years old. I emigrated to the United States in the 80’s, looking for the American dream. When I came to the United States, I had no money, and I did not speak English, but had a great desire to receive higher education through college institutions.
In 1994, I graduated with my first degree in Natural Science. I became the first to graduate in my family from a university. In 2006, I received a master's degree in Molecular Biology (both from Central Connecticut State University). In 2010, I graduated with a master's degree in Forensic Science from the University of Florida. In 2010, I was accepted to a Ph.D. program in Public Health, Epidemiology at Walden University.
Besides my professional duties, I care deeply about the people living in Connecticut, specifically, the youth living in New Britain. It is my passion to help children in the North Oak area where poverty is prevalent. I strongly believe that every child should have the same educational opportunities to be successful in the United States.
