My name is Yumeng Li. I’m a Ph.D. candidate in the School of Information Management, Sun Yat-Sen University in China. I major in Library Science and research direction is information resource management. My supervisor is Prof. Huanwen Cheng, assistant president of Sun Yat-sen University and curator of our university libraries. My master's degree is logistics engineering. Interdisciplinary Ph.D. academic life posed many challenges for me, it took me a lot of time to learn the basic theories and frontiers of information and library science, but it made me feel fulfilled and worthwhile. Furthermore, I also took advantage of my interdisciplinary strengths - sensitivity to data and engineering - and contributed to my mentor's project. For instance, in the first year of my Ph.D., I actively participated in the professor's research projects, including The Reading Report of Minors and The Digitization of the Republican Literature. Through using of interdisciplinary strengths to complete the data processing and analysis, and self-learning in the academic issues discussed in the application software such as Protégé.
