  Yiyu Zhang is currently a Lecturer in the Department of Music at Nanfang College of Sun Yat-sen University in China. She teaches Music Theory and Musicology for undergraduate students. Her research focuses on ethnomusicology, especially Chinese music, Latin American music, and music and identity. She holds a M.M in ethnomusicology from the University of Miami. Her master’s thesis addressed the Chinese American diaspora experience in Miami and the United States. Currently, She prepare to earn a doctorate in ethnomusicology.
