Virginia McKendry is an interdisciplinary scholar whose work traces the ways cultural systems of meaning are transmitted and formed through everyday texts, images, conversations, practices, institutions and material objects. As an applied researcher, she draws on the theoretical frameworks that underlay her historical studies to design of whole system dialogue processes that mobilize people to gather together to surface their collective knowledge and use it to effect positive, democratic, sustainable cultural change. She is particularly interested in the study of best practices in reconciliation between Eurocentric and Indigenous worldviews and knowledges. As an educator, she is an advocate for experiential pedagogical processes that lead to personal transformation through a program of study focused on academic, professional and ethical mastery.
