Live and work in Tokyo and Melbourne. I have been undertaking my PhD research through the Centre for Ideas, the University of Melbourne since March 2013. My research interest is materialization of ‘the untranslatable’ through a method of ‘translation’ in trans-cultural and trans-material processes. I spent 9 years (2002-2010) in Melbourne where I studied Fine Art towards B.F.A (Hons) (2006) from the Victorian College of the Arts, and M.F.A (by research) (2008) from the University of Melbourne. As well as exhibiting extensively (including ‘Miru Milieu’ at Sutton Gallery Project Space, 2009), I joined artist-led projects and organization (including West space), and published texts (including ‘feet through’, Issue 23 Intersections, 2010). In 2010, I began to curate and coordinate trans-cultural art projects, (including ‘Immanent Landscape Project’ 2010-2012). After moving back to Tokyo in 2011, where I was born and raised, I continue and develop my art practice globally (including solo exhibitions: ‘Pretend Not to See’ BankArt NYK studio, Yokohama; ‘Pensé en ir de alguna manera’, Museo Taller Erasto Cortes, Puebla, 2013).
