  Dr. Plaza is scholar and researcher on Economic Law at the Law School of the University of Chile. His academic background is based on a solid track record in world-class universitites such as New York University (NYU), the University of Melbourne (UNIMELB) and China University of Geosciences (CUG) where he enhanced an excellent capacity for analysis and comparative legal research on different legal systems. He also has extensive experience as international consultant in international taxation and regulated markets, particularly, energy, natural resources, and environment. Dr. Plaza is associate member of the Melbourne Academy for Sustainability and Society (MASS) and of the Center for Resources, Energy and Environmental Law (CREEL) of the University of Melbourne. He also has been Visiting Research Fellow at the Lauterpacht Centre for International Law of the Law School of the University of Cambridge.
