  I, Rajnish Kumar, hail from a small village located in the district of Patna. This city has been known by various names through more than 2,000 years of existence. We speak Magahi, a language derived from the ancient Magadhi Prakrit. My family comprises of five members, including me, my father, mother and two brothers. I did my secondary education from SRRS, Patna, and for senior secondary, I enrolled in B.D College, Patna. Later, I moved to Delhi to pursue higher education. After securing good rank in the entrance exam, I got enrolled in “B.A. Hons (Humanities and Social Sciences)” at Cluster Innovation Centre, University of Delhi. I studied different papers from various streams and done a few projects on ‘First War of Independence, 1857’and on social issues, and understood the deviation between theory and practice. Internships and training have added few additional skills to develop my personality and professional portfolio. I am always ready to learn something new and improve myself as per the need of the situation. Apart from academics, I have been involved with my college and university in organizing few programs. I was the Deputy President at I.S.H, DU. I play badminton as my hobby. Currently I am pursuing my masters in Historical Studies from Nalanda University.

  The School of Historical Studies is a dynamic community of faculty members and graduate students. The School pursues an open-ended yet rigorous, scientific enquiry into fundamental questions that concern the historical imagination. The School is dedicated to reframing and rethinking the interconnections between time, memory, and history in Asian and non-Asian contexts. Faculty in the School of Historical Studies understand historical studies to encompass all questions critical to human understanding. These questions include how humans make or made sense of the past, how historical understanding of the past can transform the present, and the various ways in which the present is constituted or constructed by the past. Faculty members combine a rich variety of methodologies and disciplinary backgrounds to bear on their research and teaching of history including anthropology, sociology, archaeology, religious studies, philosophy, economic history, political science, philology, visual studies, and art history.
